Prepare for your email applications to just drop dead. The cost of running them and managing them sometimes is so high that they have to call it a day
I think it’s because:
- It’s a difficult software category to do well. The cost of getting it right means charging high.
- There are some really good free ones backed by companies that don’t need to make money directly from the email client. They are vying for more broad product loyalty.
- People don’t need a new email client’s help to become more productive at email, which always seems to be the main marketing point. Email productivity comes from you.
