How fast can you “normalize” your inbox after literally not looking at it for a week?

I wonder if there is a disconnect that can be discovered in this situation. Like if email feels like a burden, yet you can kick through a week of email in a one-hour dedicated session… maybe it’s not the volume or weight of the email and some kind of other mental weight instead.

Or, if a week of untended email truly buries you in a place you think you might never be able to dig out of, maybe it more clearly surfaces the fact that you are in an untenable spot with email and something needs to change.
